The woods around here are full of string musicians who love the longstanding tradition of fiddlers conventions in the Blue Ridge Mountains. If you'd like to hear them play ... or if you'd like to join in the fun of competition ... come on!

It's a fun show for those who like to watch and listen to competition on stage ... or scout around for hot jam sessions throughout the fairgrounds.

The Alleghany County Fiddlers Convention has gained a reputation for its friendly atmosphere and beautiful mountain setting.

Proceeds from the convention benefit the Sparta-Alleghany Volunteer Fire Department and future improvements at the nonprofit fairgrounds.
